Cooperation with TeamNL

With Mission H2, partner of TeamNL, eight parties from the hydrogen chain (Gasunie, Groningen Seaports, Port of Amsterdam, Remeha, Shell Netherlands, Toyota, Eneco and Vopak,) are joining forces to increase the visibility and clout of the hydrogen mission using the power of Olympic and Paralympic sport. Top athletes know better than anyone that choosing course now is imperative in order to fulfil the promise later and perform to the maximum.

Put yourself on the map

The hydrogen movement has already started in the Netherlands, but to make it succeed we need more frontrunners. Companies that dare to invest and thus put themselves on the map and governments that make the road as flat as possible for companies. And there are hundreds of projects in various stages of development to eventually have a functioning hydrogen economy by 2030. All these projects have been brought together on the Hydrogen Map of the Netherlands. An interactive map with background information, timings and impressions of the Netherlands on its way to becoming the hydrogen country in 2030.

Positive energy

To provide positive energy to the hydrogen movement, Mission H2 awards hydrogen medals to frontrunners in the energy transition, among others. Ambassador Ranomi Kromowidjojo, among others, stands on the other side of the medal to present a medal to Diederik Samson and Alice Krekt.

Ingredients for success

After all, in the Netherlands we have the unique opportunity to realise ‘Holland Hydrogenland’ together. All the ingredients for this are present: we have the North Sea for large-scale wind energy production, the seaports as logistics hubs, an enormous amount of knowledge about hydrogen in mobility and households, large industrial clusters that want to make the switch to hydrogen and one of the world’s better energy transport networks.

A lot has happened in the field of hydrogen since the launch of Mission H2 in 2019. And now we need to push forward. For that, we can use the positive energy of our TeamNL athletes. Because if we collectively step up a gear now, Holland Hydrogenland can be on course to make our hydrogen market fully functional from 2030 during the summer games in Paris. As a vanguard player in the world. So we have gold in our hands!
